28 Sep Chamber Speaker Series continues Oct 5th

The La Mirada Chamber will continue its speaker series at the next meeting on October 5th at 8:00 AM at Polly’s Pies Restaurant & Bakery in La Mirada located at the corner of Beach Blvd & Rosecrans Ave at 14840 Beach Blvd, La Mirada, CA 90638.

The Chamber is honored to have as our speaker Jordan Terranova, Director of Operations at the Office of Innovation at Biola University.

In her role, Jordan mentors entrepreneurs as they seek to build and grow their businesses. She works strategically with leaders across campus to instill a culture of innovation at the university, while also encouraging students as they start new businesses. Jordan recently earned her Master’s in Social Entrepreneurship from the University of Southern California and has worked at Biola since 2018. She is also Co-Founder and Executive Director of Illuminate International, a social enterprise publishing children’s books by global storytellers to fund their education empowerment model in under-resourced schools around the world.

One of Jordan’s key responsibilities at the Office of Innovation is Biola’s Startup Competition. Hosted by the Office of Innovation, the annual competition aims to foster kingdom-minded, Christ-honoring entrepreneurship across the university community and develop greater opportunities for Christian leadership. Throughout the competition, participants go through the practical steps to help guide them in building a successful venture. The competition brings in leading entrepreneurs and industry professionals to coach and lead workshops on the most important aspects of developing their businesses. In the end, they award $20,000 in capital to teams that show the most growth and promise.
