The La Mirada Chamber continues its speaker series at the next meeting on November 2nd at 8:00 AM at Polly’s Pies Restaurant & Bakery in La Mirada located at the corner of Beach Blvd & Rosecrans Ave at 14840 Beach Blvd, La Mirada, CA 90638.

The Chamber is honored to have as our speaker Dr. Robert Cancio, recently elected Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District (NLMUSD) school board member.

Dr. Robert Cancio is a lifelong resident of Norwalk, CA, and a graduate of the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District (NLMUSD). In 2005, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy as a cryptologist and completed two global deployments, including Operation Iraqi Freedom. After his enlistment, he attended East Los Angeles College for his A.A., UC Berkeley for his B.A., and the University of Miami for his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees.

At present, he is a Board Member for the NLMUSD. His work as an advocate for education reform and researcher actively contributes to publications in mental health, human behavior, and digital market research. He is committed to serving his community and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Kiwani 605, an international service club dedicated to improving the lives of children. Dr. Cancio also serves as an Officer for the Order of Saint Lazarus, a Catholic chivalric order dedicated to the care and assistance of the sick and the poor. In addition, he is the Senior Vice Commander for the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #9148 in La Mirada.
