The La Mirada Chamber of Commerce will continue it’s speaker series on, September 3rd at 8:00 AM at 12Sixty Modern Pub & Kitchen in La Mirada located at 14299 Firestone Blvd, La Mirada, CA 90638.

We are honored to have Dr. Michael Arena, Dean of Crowell School of Business at Biola University for the invocation and Dr. Jose Fierro as our guest speaker.  Dr. Fierro began his tenure as President/Superintendent of the Cerritos Community College District in July 2015.

Through Dr. Fierro’s initiatives and commitment to increasing educational access, providing basic needs, and supporting personal and professional advancement, Cerritos College has become the launchpad for social mobility in the Southeast Los Angeles area.

The College continually observes record-breaking graduation rates, a decrease in students’ time to completion, and an increase in successful completion of transfer math and English courses. Dr. Fierro launched Cerritos Complete, which won the 2018 Examples of Excelencia Award and was named a finalist in the 2018 Bellwether Award.

Dr. Fierro currently serves as the President of the National Community College Hispanic Council, President of the California Association of Latino Community College Trustees and Administrators, Co-Chair of the Los Angeles Regional Consortium, and Member of the Coast Plaza Hospital Board of Directors.
