29 Feb Richard Trujillo Guest Speaker at Chamber Breakfast

The La Mirada Chamber of Commerce will continue its speaker series on March  5th at 8:00 AM at 12Sixty Modern Pub & Kitchen in La Mirada located at 14299 Firestone Blvd, La Mirada, CA 90638.

Richard Trujillo has been a recognizable face in the city of La Mirada since 1978 and has been in the insurance industry for 45 years.

Moving from Norwalk, he believed that being involved in the community makes things better for everyone and that is just what he is known for. Trujillo has been involved and supports numerous organizations, activities, and programs not only in La Mirada but in the surrounding communities.

“My Father died when he was 55. We looked for a life insurance policy but found he had let the policy lapse. My Mother had no way to support herself or stay in her home, so she had to rent it out. That was a real eye-opener for me. After all those years of working so hard for their home, she couldn’t keep it” stated Trujillo.

At the time Trujillo was working in a shop doing ‘the dirty work’. “The foreman came in and asked me if this is what I wanted to do when I was 50. The answer to that question was ‘No! So I went back to school.”

By that time he had a wife and a child but joined Cerritos College taking industrial technology courses. It was in one of those classes that he learned about the book by Dale Carnegie How to Win Friends and Influence People.

“God speaks to us in mysterious ways” added Trujillo. “Three times I was led to go into the insurance business …. I’m glad I listened because it has made a good living for my family and I not only have clients, I consider all of them friends.”
